(1) Gear materials need to meet the requirements of working conditions such as strength, life, reliability, and economy.

(2) The gear size, rough forming method, heat treatment and thermal manufacturing process should be considered;

(3) Normalized carbon steel can only make the gear work under stable or slight impact, and quenched and tempered carbon steel can be used for gears under medium impact load.

(4) Alloy steel is usually used to produce gears that operate at high speeds, heavy loads and impact loads;

(5) The size of aviation gear should be as small as possible.High-strength alloy steel with surface hardening should be used.

(6) For steel soft tooth gears, the hardness difference between the two teeth should be kept above 30-50hbs.
